Saint Emilion & Pomerol private tour from Bordeaux – two legendary appellations, one extraordinary day on Bordeaux’s Right Bank!
The Right Bank is where Merlot finds its finest expression: plush, generous, and built on clay and limestone soils that no other region in the world quite replicates. This private tour from Bordeaux is the ultimate way to discover Bordeaux’s most celebrated Right Bank wine regions, at your own pace, with an expert local guide and a fully customized itinerary designed for you.
Saint-Emilion and Pomerol are two of the world’s most prestigious wine appellations, and yet they couldn’t be more different. Saint-Emilion charms with its UNESCO medieval village, its Grand Cru Classé estates and its luminous limestone landscapes. Pomerol, just a short drive away, is quieter and more discreet, with smaller estates, wines with more depth, and a sense that you’ve stumbled onto something the rest of the world hasn’t quite discovered yet.
Customize your wine tour experience of the holy trail of Saint-Emilion & Pomerol vineyards, regions that boast breathtaking scenery, medieval history and world class wines. Improve your wine knowledge in an intimate setting with local winemaking experts. Meander through the cobbled streets of an ancient village, feast on regional specialties and taste Bordeaux’s most prestigious wines.
Your guide, a local expert in Bordeaux wines, will take you behind the scenes of two carefully selected estates, sharing the stories, the terroir and the passion that make these wines so renowned. Luncheon at a local brasserie in the village or a freshly made picnic at a family estate among the vines. And if you want to explore what else this region has to offer, a third winery can always be added on request!
This is not just a wine tour. It’s an exploration and introduction to Bordeaux’s Right Bank unlike any other. Explore and taste the variety these terroirs have to offer. You won’t regret it!

Q&A
Can we bring our luggage on the tour?
You can carry your luggage with you on request. It will depend on the size of the luggage and the space available in the van. But your chauffeur-guide will accompany you during your visits, so, any luggage or personal effects inside the vehicle will be left unattended. Bordeaux Wine Trails cannot be held liable in the event of theft or damage to your property.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Our minivan tours always go through unless there is imminent danger due to the weather conditions. In case of rain, we provide umbrellas to all our guests. Also, we try to keep track of the weather conditions a few days before the tour in case we need to reschedule it. But if due to unforeseen weather trouble the tour is cancelled you will receive a full refund.
Are the winery tours private?
The scheduled tours are generally reserved exclusively for Bordeaux Wine Trails visitors and are mostly private. Some wine estates won’t guarantee that the tour will be private and it is possible that other people may join us on that particular tour, but in any case the total number of guests on tour would never exceed 12.
Can we buy wine on this tour?
Yes, with the exception of a few very rare estates, it is possible to buy wine after this tour. We can transport the wine back to Bordeaux in the van. Most estates even take care of shipping depending on the country of destination.
What is a 'Private Tour'?
A private tour is a completely customized wine tour for you and your guests based on your interests, wine preferences, knowledge and even the type of event.
