It’s a vineyard tour where you don’t have to worry about a thing! Everything is planned in advance by our staff – time of departure and return, meeting and drop-off point, winery tours and wine tastings, meals (where applicable). We’ll also provide you with one small bottle of spring water per person.
Semi-private wine tours are available every day of the week (some exceptions may apply) for the period of April to October included. All you have to do is pick your date.
The wine tour pick-up and drop-off point is in front of the Bordeaux Office du Tourisme located at 12 cours du XXX Juillet, 33000 Bordeaux.
The tours are sold on a first-come first-served basis with a maximum of 8 people per group. Having groups of 8 or less allows our knowledgeable guides to have an up-close-and-personal rapport with our clients.
Yes, of course! However, please make your request well in advance. You can choose from among our various excursions to find the one that best suits you.
The tours are open to children 12 years and older, at the regular price and accompanied by an adult.
Based on the participants’ nationality, the tour is given in French and/or English.
In the Bordeaux Wine Trails tour descriptions, you’ll find an interactive map that shows you the address and rendezvous point at the Bordeaux Office du Tourisme (Tourist Office). Also, after you’ve made your booking, your voucher will confirm the address of the Bordeaux Office du Tourisme. Don’t worry – the directions are very clear, so it is very rare for clients to miss the departure time. Nonetheless, the guides are required to be punctual and leave on time to ensure the tour schedule and the other participants are not inconvenienced. Clients will not receive a refund if they arrive after a tour has already departed.
The vehicles used are 9-seater minivans (1 driver + 8 passengers including two on the front seat). They are newer model cars with air-conditioning in the front and back, equipped with 2 sliding doors which make it easier for the group to get in and out of the vehicle. They’re also equipped with a sound system to hear the guide’s comments (or music).
Each group is driven by a qualified guide. The guides also have a chauffeur’s license. Some even have a tasting aptitude certificate (DUAD) from the University of Bordeaux Wine Studies Department.
The scheduled tours are generally reserved exclusively for Bordeaux Wine Trails visitors and are given in French or English, or both languages depending on where the participants are from. Some wine estates won’t guarantee that the tour will be private and it is possible that other people may join us on that particular tour.
Between 2 and 3 at each estate.
A meal is included only for the full-day wine tours, that being Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. However, at some wine estates, the tastings include local gourmet products such as cheeses, cold cuts, macaroons, etc.
Wear closed shoes for the cobblestone streets in Saint-Emilion, and warm clothing for the wine cellars where the temperature is around 59°F (15°C).

General Points:

With the exception of a few very rare estates, it is possible to buy wine after a wine tour. Some estates even take care of shipping depending on the country of destination.
The minimum age to be part of our wine tours is 12. However, wine tasting (or any other alcoholic beverage) is strictly reserved for individuals more than 18 years of age.
French regulations strictly forbid drinking alcohol or smoking inside vehicles. Any violation of this law could lead to the loss of our passenger transport license and chauffeur’s license. We therefore ask you to strictly obey this law.
In addition, eating and drinking are not authorized inside the vehicles with the exception of plain water.
We don’t sell beverages aboard the vehicles. However, a small bottle of spring water will be provided to each participant by the chauffeur on request (limit one bottle per person and per tour).
Since your chauffeur-guide will accompany you during every tour, any luggage or personal effects inside the vehicle will be left unattended. Also, Bordeaux Wine Trails cannot be held liable in the event of theft or damage to your property.
We regret to inform you that pets are not welcome on our wine tours.
